Job description
Due to the growth of our organization, we are looking for a driven and ambitious employee to strengthen our bunker department. In the role of (junior) Bunker Trader, you will act as the first point of contact for our members.
We are looking for both recent graduates and more "experienced" candidates who have several years of work experience in shipping or sales/service related jobs. Excellent communication skills and the natural ability to build relationships are key.

What can you expect from us?
A very varied position with sufficient opportunities for self-development. Together with your team members, you will be responsible for purchasing and selling fuels, among other things, for our members. You have to deal with commercial, technical and legal aspects, where optimal customer satisfaction is the highest goal. You maintain contacts with existing relationships, approach potential customers and attend trade fairs and other events if desired.
Your duties and responsibilities
Supporting purchasing activities: Drawing up purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers and concluding contracts for the supply of marine fuels.
Market analysis: Collecting and analyzing market data to gain insight into price developments, supply and demand, and other factors that influence the fuel market.
Communication with suppliers: Maintain contacts with existing suppliers and participate in discussions with new suppliers to ensure the best value for money.
Administrative Processing: Ensure accurate documentation of purchasing transactions, contracts, and other relevant documents.
Logistics Coordination: Assisting in the coordination of logistics processes with the aim of ensuring that fuels are delivered on time and according to specifications.
Risk Management: Assist in identifying potential risks, such as price volatility and supply disruptions, and developing strategies to manage these risks.
Regulatory Compliance: Assist in ensuring compliance with international and national regulations on fuel use and emissions control in the maritime sector.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
Naturally, we realize better than anyone that what we do at Bebeka is not common practice. To be successful in this role, it is important that you have (in the short term):
Understanding of the fuel market: Understanding of the (basic) principles of the marine fuel market, including knowledge of the different types of fuels (such as HFO, MGO, VLSFO) and maritime logistics.
Knowledge of international regulations: Basic knowledge of relevant international regulations (such as IMO guidelines and MARPOL) and the importance of compliance with them.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and identify trends that could impact purchasing decisions.
Negotiation skills: Basic negotiation skills and the ability to develop these further under the guidance of senior buyers.
Communication skills: Good oral and written communication skills in Dutch and English to communicate effectively with suppliers and relations.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. Working accurately in a dynamic environment.
IT skills: Familiarity with the Microsoft Office package and willingness to learn to work with purchasing software and CRM systems.

Job requirements
HBO (Bachelor) working and thinking level in a relevant field such as Logistics, Maritime Management, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management.
Flexible attitude and broad interests.
Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.
Practical, systematic and above all proactive working method.
Able to work both independently and in a team.
Sees a great challenge in working within a cooperative and extremely transparent environment.
Affinity with logistics (shipping is an advantage).
Living within a radius of 50 km from Groningen.
