The Cooperative Purchasing and Sales Association for Shipping Bebeka U.A. was founded in 1961 by a number of Northern Dutch shipowners. The main goal is to realize benefits through joint purchasing. Initially, this involved the purchase of fuels on a contract basis.

Over the years, our product range has been expanded with several products and services. There was also a gradual but steady growth in both the number of members and the purchased volume of fuels and lubricants. During the oil crisis in the 1970s, Bebeka was one of the few players who was able to supply its members thanks to its contracts.

Over the past 60 years, Bebeka has grown into a globally operating organization with more than 450 members. We purchase for more than 1,500 ships in various shipping sectors. Bebeka is aware of the latest developments in the field of fuel prices, the energy market and legislation. We therefore fulfill an important advisory function for our members.
